Luke Kennard might as well be renamed "Duke" Kennard because Duke seems to produce a player like him every other year. He has solid basketball IQ coupled with a good shooting stroke from all over the floor. He just lacks the athleticism to be a surefire impact player at the NBA level. Kennard projects to be a "3 and D" wing in the league, but doesn't have enough defensive upside to be a difference maker.

His lateral quickness leaves a lot to be desired and his wingspan does him no favors on the defensive end. That lack of overall athleticism makes it very hard for a player to contribute on a consistent basis versus NBA level athletes, especially on the perimeter. He's not much of a transition threat and in the half-court offense he'll be relegated to spot-up shooting and coming off screens.

On the bright side, teams are always looking for shooters so he will get NBA looks. I'm not sure he has enough upside to get drafted though. His solid season has highlighted his strengths enough to garner some interest. He may be better suited continuing his career at Duke.
