Oklahoma City's superstar point-guard suffered an injury to his right hand last night vs the Los Angeles Clippers. Westbrook fractured the second metacarpal in his right hand and could miss 4-6 weeks, according to the Oklahoman. Westbrook suffered the injury while attempting to go up for a rebound, when his hand seemed to have collided with Kendrick Perkins' back.
This is a huge loss for the already short-handed Thunder. With Durant (fractured foot) out until at least December, and injuries to Reggie Jackson (ankle; day-to-day) and Jeremy Lamb (back; day-to-day), the lost of Westbrook is extremely untimely and devastating for the Thunder. The West is no place to fall behind in. Come mid-December, when all of their players are healthy, hopefully they are still in a position to compete for a solid playoff seed, for it will be uphill from there.
